This is not a vacation. This is the return.

After Vodundays is the program of ONG Wa Afriki — born in Ouidah, Benin, the world capital of Vodun. We open what no travel agency can: the guardian families, the ceremonies the crowds never see, the memory of the Slave Route. 100 places each January. 65% of what you invest stays in Ouidah.

What only Ouidah holds

The Lineage Reading

A DNA test told you “Benin.” The Fa consultation, performed by a Bokonon of Ouidah, tells you what no laboratory can: a lineage, a tutelary deity, a path. The Fa has been UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2008 — and it cannot be consulted from a distance.

The Guardian Families

Not a hotel — a home. You are received by guardians of the tradition, initiated artisans, Agouda families who returned from Brazil. Morning begins in the courtyard, over coffee. That is where the return stops being a word.

When the City Empties

On January 11, the festival crowds leave. That is exactly when the access begins: the convents breathe, the families have time, the palaces open outside public hours. That moment belongs only to those who stay.

Every testimonial published on this site follows one rule: a face, a voice, a name — verifiable, or nothing.

The question everyone asks

Benin or Ghana
for your journey home?

We wrote the comparison nobody else would — starting with what Ghana does better than us. Then what only Benin can offer: the living source of Vodun, citizenship through the My Afro Origins law, and an intimacy no mass season can match. Ghana names the history. Benin heals it.
