Wa Afriki.
The organization that makes
all of this possible.

After Vodundays is not a travel agency. It is the operational program of an NGO founded by Bertian Hounon, grandson of DAAGBO HOUNON HOUNA 1, with work begun as early as 2019, officially registered in Benin in 2022.

A legitimacy that cannot be bought.
It is received through birth, and earned through work.

Bertian Hounon was born in December 1996 in Ouidah. He is the grandson of DAAGBO HOUNON HOUNA 1, Grand Patriarch of global Vodun, a figure whose spiritual legacy is recognized from Haiti to Brazil, from Cuba to the United States.

A specialist in Vodun and the Fa oracle since 2016, Bertian founded Wa Afriki to bridge the gap between a diaspora searching for its roots and the tradition-guardians who held the keys to that access.

No foreign operator can enter Vodun convents, organize a Zangbéto ceremony, or guarantee the authenticity of a consultation with a Bokonon without this web of relationships. That is After Vodundays' structural advantage, it is not commercial. It is human, and genealogical.

A legacy is not only received by birth, it is extended by building. Between 2019 and 2022, Bertian personally wove the network of local alliances that makes After Vodundays possible today: guardian families, artisans, guides, institutions. This is not a legacy received and kept intact. It is a legacy rebuilt so it can carry through the generations to come.
